High season
The high season, which runs from December to April, is the best time to visit Tulum if you’re looking for the best weather and the most comfortable temperatures. During this time, the weather is warm and sunny with daytime temperatures averaging around 80-85°F (27-29°C). The sea is also at its warmest, making it perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Additionally, the high season is also the time when Tulum has the most events and festivities, and is when the town is most crowded.
Low Season
The low season, which runs from May to November, is the best time to visit Tulum if you’re looking for a more relaxed and quiet trip. During this time, the weather is still warm, but with more humidity and frequent rain. The sea is also cooler, making it less suitable for swimming, but perfect for diving. This is also the perfect time to visit Tulum if you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy the town more peacefully. Additionally, the low season is when accommodations and activities can be found at a lower price.
The shoulder seasons, which are the months of April and November, can be a good option if you’re looking for a balance between the weather and the prices. The weather is still warm and sunny, but not as hot as in the high season, and the crowds are not as high as in the peak season. Also, the sea is still warm enough for swimming and the prices for accommodations and activities are lower than in the high season.
